Amy K. Eaton, 50, of Nickerson, died July 6, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  She was born September 18, 1968, to Richard and Jane (Johnson) Elliott at Fort Riley, KS.

Amy grew up in the Delia, KS, community and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia.  She graduated from Rossville High School in 1987 and Kansas State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Studies with a major in Early Childhood Development.  Amy was a preschool teacher at Thatcher Learning Center in Pueblo, CO, for three years, and a District Manager for the Kansas Lottery for 23 years before retiring due to her health.

On November 15, 1997, she married Richard L. Smith in Hutchinson. They later divorced. Amy married Toby Eaton and they divorced.

She is survived by:  her parents, Richard and Jane Elliott, Delia; twin children, Tanner and Carly Smith, Nickerson; and brother, Kirk Elliott, Emporia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2019, at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson, with Father Michael Kerschen officiating. Burial will follow in Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson.  Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

Jessica Cecille ‘Jess’ McAllister, 38, of Hutchinson, died July 5, 2019. She was born November 6, 1980, to Kevin L. and Katherine Delores (Coonce) McAllister.

She was a 1999 graduate of Nickerson High School, 2001 graduate of Hutchinson Community College, and a graduate of Phoenix University with her Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree in nursing. Jess was a registered nurse at the Hutchinson Clinic and loved her profession (caring for others).

Jess was loved by many and never knew a stranger. She was a wonderful mother, daughter and sister.

Surviving are: daughter, Katie McAllister; parents, Kevin and Kathy McAllister, all of Hutchinson; brothers, Jason and wife Reyna of Hutchinson, Shane and wife Sammie of McPherson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, David and Geraldine Coonce, Paul McAllister and Florence McMurdo.

There will be a come and go gathering at Rice Park Building, 44 Swarens, Thursday, July 11, 2019, from 2 to 5 p.m.  Friends may sign her book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.

Kim Main McCamant, 53, of Hutchinson,  died July 5, 2019, at Hospice House.  She was born August 13, 1965, in Hutchinson, the daughter of John A. & Darlene M. (Carsten) Main.

Kim was a 1983 graduate of Hutchinson High School.  She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Sweet, Drs. Thompson & Whitlow, and Dr. Meschke.

On July 10, 1993, she married David G. McCamant in Hutchinson.

Kim is survived by:  husband, David of the home; son, Cooper of Lenexa; mother, Darlene Main of Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by: her father, John; brother, Bill; in-laws, Donald & Betty McCamant.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with Gary Getting officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel.  A private family graveside will be held prior to the memorial service. Friends may sign the guest register daily at Elliott Mortuary.

George Robert Hasselbring, 77, of Hutchinson, died Friday, July 5, 2019. He was born March 4, 1942, in Kingman, to Carlin Lee and Gyda Lucille (Campbell) Hasselbring.

A longtime Hutchinson resident, George moved to Oklahoma after retirement and returned to Hutchinson in 2015. George was a machinist for Cessna- Eaton Corp. for 38 years, and a veteran of the Army National Guard and Army reserves, serving for 12 years.

On August 24, 1996, he married Joyce Ann Ensminger in Hutchinson. His wife, Joyce of 23 years survives.

Also surviving are: daughter, Carla Latham and husband Jason; grandchildren, Dusty Latham and wife Kelsey, and Hannah Latham; sisters, Mary Chin and Peggy Lanam; sisterin-law, Terry Goldsmith all of Hutchinson; brotherin-law, Garry Lingenfelter, of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Ruby Holloway and Sue Lingenfelter; brother, Dave Goldsmith; brothers-inlaw, Jim Lanam and Carol Holloway.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with Wayne DeWindt presiding. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign his book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.

Terry ‘Coach’ Masterson, 79, of Hutchinson, died July 5, 2019, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital-St. Francis, Wichita. He was born September 20, 1939, to Avy and Edna (Riesen) Masterson in Newton.

Terry graduated from Halstead High School, Hutchinson Community College (HCC), Fort Hays State University, and Utah State University with a master’s degree in sociology. After college, he taught and coached at Inman, Halstead, and Ellinwood high schools, before learning that legendary track coach, Nelson Sorem, was retiring from HCC. Terry coached at HCC for 41 seasons, from 1968 to 2009. Before that, he played football and ran track for the HCC Blue Dragons. Track and cross country (that do not measure success in wins and losses), allowed for his induction into the HCC Quarterback Club Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2005, Terry was inducted into the National Junior College Athletic Association Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame. The Terry Masterson Twilight Cross Country Invitational will be held this year on August 30, 2019.

On August 1, 1959, he married Barbara J. Lichter, in Olmitz. She died August 4, 1969. Terry married Nancy Keens on June 4, 1971, in Hutchinson. She survives. He is survived by: wife, Nancy Masterson, Hutchinson; sons, Brad (Lashel) Masterson, Elkhorn, NE, and Cameron (Rochelle) Masterson, Hutchinson; daughters, Kimberley (David Lyon) Masterson, Hutchinson, and Jill (Brent) McBee, Olathe; grandchildren, Taylor and Kristin McBee, Mya Masterson, Brett Masterson, Jacqueline (Christian Murray) Masterson, Josh and McKinsey Mitten; and great-granddaughter, Jazlyn Murray. Terry was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Barbara.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Lennie Maxwell officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main, Hutchinson, immediately following the memorial service.

Adelaide Fry, 98, died Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born December 27, 1920, in Delphos, Kansas, to Lester Hobart and Avis Elizabeth (Long) Tasker.

Adelaide graduated from Miltonvale Wesleyan Academy in 1937 and Salt City Business College in 1944. Adelaide worked at Colladay Hardware for 12 years. In 1963, she became co-owner and bookkeeper for Yoder Hardware and Lumber, along with her husband, Alvin. They owned the hardware store in Yoder until 1990, when their son, Rodney purchased it. She was a member of Hutchinson Wesleyan Church, serving as church treasurer for over 50 years.

On March 7, 1947, she married Alvin LeRoy Fry in Hutchinson. They shared 53 years of marriage before his death November 17, 2000.
Adelaide is survived by: children, Rodney Fry and wife Peggy of Yoder, Joyce (Fry) Heismeyer and husband Fred of Wichita; grandson, Brad Fry and wife Ada; and great-granddaughter, Vivian Fry, all of Yoder. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dorothy Hird.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Nick Huck officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Kathleen R. Peters, 83, of Hutchinson, died July 3, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born to Raymond and Bertha (Studer) Starrett, in Preston. On March 11, 1956, she married Robert W. Peters in Natrona. They enjoyed over 45 years of marriage until his death on April 4, 2001.

Kathleen graduated from Pratt High School and attended Xray Technician training at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Hutchinson. Kathleen retired from the Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She is survived by: daughter, Cynthia (Wayne) Reazin, Hutchinson; son, Michael (Gwen) Peters, Springfield, MO; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Kathleen was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Robert W. Peters; brother, Robert Starrett; and very special friend, Robert Hodgkinson.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th, Hutchinson, with Pastor Quentin Nuttman and Pastor Henry Blickhahn officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
