Roberta Rogers, 51, passed away June 24, 2019, at Hospice House. Roberta was born September 26, 1967, the daughter of Gerald D. and Lenora E. (Nichols) Fisher.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gerald D. Fisher Sr. and brother Gerald D. Fisher Jr.

She is survived by her mother, Lenora; children, Krista Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Kimberly Rogers, Christopher Maberry and Ryan Maberry; her significant other, Flint Moore and stepchildren, Amy Lackey and Jarrett Moore; sisters, Nonie Green, Tammy Faulkner and Deanna Fisher; and 15 grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. June 29, 2109 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502.

Jack W. Kipp, 70, of Hutchinson, died June 23, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born July 6, 1948, to Jack Wilbur and Lorraine (Ellswick) Kipp, in Hutchinson.

Jack was a 1966 graduate of Haven High School. He worked as a Corrections Supervisor at Hutchinson Correctional Facility and retired after 30 years of service. Jack enjoyed watching Westerns, was an avid John Wayne fan, and a devout Christian. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Hutchinson. Jack’s greatest joy was being around his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the love of his life.

On May 20, 1967, he married Kathy Owens, in Hutchinson. They shared 52 years of marriage.

Jack is survived by: wife, Kathy Kipp; sons, Jack (fiancée, Cathy Evans) Kipp, Hutchinson, Jerry (Melanie) Kipp, Hutchinson, Jody (Katrina) Kipp, Derby; daughter, Jami (Darren) Quick, Hutchinson; son, Jon (Dawn) Kipp, Hutchinson; sister, Terry Jones; cousin, William Williamson; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019, at First Southern Baptist Church, 1201 E. 23rd, Hutchinson, with Dr. Roy Jaye officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice House, Hutchinson, or Casa de mi Padre Orphanage, Guatemala, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Eric Ryan Gelineau, 32, died June 21, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  He was born September 4, 1986, in Haverhill, MA, to Paul Gerard and Carol Dee (Thille) Gelineau.

Eric graduated from Buhler High School in 2006.  Despite all the challenges that life had for Eric, he touched everyone he met with his contagious smile. He had a huge heart and was extremely funny.  Eric loved word searches, his rubberband ball, and anything to do with Coca-Cola.  He was a special young man, and an inspiration to everyone he came in contact with during his life.

Eric is survived by:  parents, Paul and Carol of Hutchinson; sister, Aron of Casselberry, FL; maternal grandpa, Roland Krause; paternal grandpa, Hervey A. Gelineau; and paternal grandma, Patricia Hurley.

He was preceded in death by:  grandparents, JoAnn Krause, Murray Thille; uncles, Harold Metthe, Timothy Newburn; aunt, Tana Krause; and cousin, Melissa Myers.

A Celebration of Life for Eric will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating.  Friends may sign the book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.  Memorials may be made to the Eric Gelineau Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS  67501. The family requests those attending wear funny shirts or brightly colored clothing.

Barbara E Dean passed away June 24, 2019 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, Kansas. Barbara was born in Wayne, Michigan to Charles and Bernita (Tyrell) Gessel. She attended Wayne Memorial High School and the Dallas Beauty School. Barbara married James Dean on January 31, 1996 in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Barbara enjoyed traveling with James and even though it was her profession, she loved helping her long time clients look their best. Barbara had 3 loves in her life: James, Smokey, and the Casinos; maybe not in that order depending on the day.

She is survived by her husband James E. Dean; siblings, Mary (Kim, Mark) Collins, Tom (Debbie) Gessel, Fred Snyder, and Beverly Snyder; nephew Andrew L. Dean (which she and James raised); mother-in-law Beatrice Dean, and brother-in-law Steven Dean. Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Barb’s life will be held at the AFT annex, 1615 N. Adams, Hutchinson, KS on Saturday July 20, 2019 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. This will be a come and go event, bring your favorite memory of Barb to share with family and friends.

Rachel Gonzales, 83, formerly of Hutchinson, died June 20, 2019, at her home. She was born December 27, 1935, in Halstead, to Juan F. and Guadalupe (Martinez) Gonzales. Rachel graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1953. She worked as a CNA in the maternity ward at Grace Hospital and then, with Frank Raya Jr., was co-founder/owner of Kiko’s Mexican Restaurant, which they operated for 24 years. Rachel was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, and volunteered at the Salvation Army, Hutchinson, Ronald McDonald House, Wichita, and the Lord’s Diner, Wichita.

Surviving are: children, Cynthia Raya, Wichita, Annette Raya, Hutchinson, Anthony Raya, Wichita, Gregory Raya (Birgit), Raeford, North Carolina, Christopher Raya (Romaine Figueroa), Wichita; grandchildren, Rachel Wannamaker (Jarod), Hutchinson, Dominick Raya, Santa Monica, CA, Derrick Raya (Katie), Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Julen and Noah Wannamaker and Alexis and Asher Raya; brothers, Gilbert Gonzales (Rosa), Nickerson, Fernando Gonzales (Vanessa), Hutchinson; daughter-of-the-heart, Ruby Slavenburg; honorary grandchildren, Juaquina Bowers and Jessica Guy; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Angie Harms; brothers, Roberto (infant), Rudolfo, Roberto, Armando, and Juan.

Parish rosary will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2019, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, with Father Ned Blick officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, with family present from 2-4 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Pauline Jane Smith, 100, of Hutchinson, passed away June 21, 2019, at Hester Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. She was born September 16, 1918, in Augusta, KS, the daughter of L.H. ‘Hodge’ and Susan (Burney) Merideth. Pauline graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1936, where she was selected to be in the National Honor Society two years in a row. Pauline also attended Adela Hale Secretarial School.

On September 23, 1937, she married Alvin L. ‘Al’ Smith in Wellsville. They moved to Hutchinson in 1941 and shared 76 years of marriage.

Pauline was a school secretary for several years at Grandview and then at Graber grade schools. She then worked in the office at the gas service company and retired after 20 years of service.

After Al and Pauline both retired they traveled with the bus tours, taking over 20 tours in 48 states and Canada and Mexico. They always said they met lots of interesting people and enjoyed those trips. Pauline was a china painter and spent many years enjoying that hobby and sharing her items with family and friends. She liked to read and had fun sending cards to family and friends.

Pauline was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church (formerly Forest Park Presbyterian Church) and was very active in her church work and enjoyed that fellowship. She was an ordained deacon and elder.

Survivors include: son, Michael Smith (Carolyn), Los Alamos, NM; daughter, Pam Knoche (Farrell), South Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Connie Peterson (Roy), Rio Rancho, NM, Deb Norman (Ben), Los Alamos, NM, Russell Smith (Kristin) Berthoud, CO, Jeff Miller (Lynette), Hutchinson; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Martinez (Cliff), Riley Peterson, Cole and Campbell Smith, Paige Marks (Kevin), Morgan Miller, and Grace Norman.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Al Smith, at age 99, three-year-old little sister, Doris Merideth, and sister, Barbara Perry.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with the Reverend Craig Waetke officiating. Private family graveside will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
