Margaret Ann Lee, 74, of Buhler, formerly of Topeka, died June 17, 2019, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. She was born on July 1, 1944, to Manuel and Vicky (Gomez) Arredondo, in Topeka.

Margaret enjoyed playing bingo, attending barbecue get togethers, but her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson.

Margaret is survived by: daughter, Michelle (Mark) Moore, Hutchinson; sons, Manuel (Christon) Shughart, Mark Shughart, and Michael Shughart, all of Topeka; brothers, Manuel (Delores) Arredondo, Jr., Daniel (Jo) Arredondo, Sr., and Edward (Laura) Arredondo, Sr.; sisters, Diane (Joe) Morris and Juanita Lutz; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Darrel Lutz.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Andy Addis officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to service time on Thursday, June 20, 2019.

Fredrick J. ‘Fred’ Welch, 82, of Hutchinson, died June 15, 2019, at his home. He was born December 21, 1936, in Hutchinson, to Raymond Harold and Mildred Maxine (Griffith) Welch.

Fred was a 1955 graduate of Hutchinson High School. He was a cowboy who did everything, from auctioneering, leather crafting, farming, and he loved to sing karaoke. Fred was known as a person who ‘did it all, but he always did it his way.’

On July 11, 1998, he married Carla Sue Wilson in Hutchinson. Fred was a longtime member of Salt City Cowboy Church, South Hutchinson.

He is survived by: wife, Carla Welch; sister, Linda Finfrock; son, Bret (Rochelle) Welch; daughter, Brenda (Mark) Klug; grandson, Brandon (Keta) Welch; granddaughter, Keeliza (J.C.) Lowen; grandson, Luke (Kelsey) Pedigo; granddaughters, Erica Vierthaler, Adrienne Vierthaler, Taylor (fiancé Phillip Rivera) Pedigo; grandson, Laston Welch; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Fred was preceded in death by: his parents; Darlene Welch; son, Shawn Welch; sisters, Pat Whaley and Lori Welch; brother, Ray Welch; and grandson, Levi Pedigo.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Salt City Cowboy Church, 811 N. Main, South Hutchinson, with Pastor Montie McFerrin officiating. The funeral service will be streamed live on the Salt City Cowboy Church facebook page. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Peggy A. Frenya, 80, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Sunshine Meadows, Buhler, KS.

Peggy was born May 28, 1939 in Platter, OK and was the daughter of Delmer and Loma Smith. On December 16, 1961 she married Harold R. Frenya in Ponca, OK.

She was an active member of Westside Baptist Church, Hutchinson and enjoyed taking part of all the activities the church would have to offer. Peggy had several hobbies throughout her life that she enjoyed doing, she crocheted, played cards with her friends, went camping with her family but her favorite was rooting for her Kansas City Chiefs football and Royals baseball. Peggy had worked as an office manager for a realty office prior to retiring.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, a son Kirt Frenya, a brother Bob Smith, two sisters, Gladys Smith and Barbara Staton and two grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Robert (Patty) Frenya of Russell Springs, KY, Douglas Frenya of Rome, GA; two daughters, Lorelei (Peter) Groen of Chandler, MN, Rhonda (Tim) Ramsey of Haven, KS; ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Westside Baptist Church, 400 West 12th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. Kathleen ‘Kathy’ Ann Loehr, 71, of Hutchinson, died Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born August 22, 1947, in Topeka, the daughter of Robert F. and Mildred R. (McManus) Loehr Rudd.

Kathy graduated from Wellington High School. She received her degree in physical therapy from the University of Kansas and earned a master’s in gerontology from Wichita State University. She was Director of Physical Therapy at Via Christi-St. Francis, Wichita and Director of Rehab Services at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Kathy loved traveling, reading, and learning about world history and geography. She was a member of the KU Alumni Association, American Physical Therapy Association, ASPCA, PETA, 4-H, and Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson.

Kathy is survived by: daughter, Regina Loehr (Adam Simmons), Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Ann Loehr (Don Minge), Hutchinson, Mary Fowler (Steve), Wichita, Peggy Clark (Brad), Wichita; father, Robert Loehr, Wichita; stepfather, Dr. Jack Rudd, Bel Aire; grandson, Cole Mason, Hutchinson; Cole’s adoptive parents, Chris and Dr. Brooke Mason, Hutchinson; niece, Morgan Clark, Wichita; nephew, Tyler Clark, Wichita; Regina’s sister, Michele Humbert and her parents, Janice Humbert and Paul Epstein, Hopewell Junction, NY; numerous cousins; and family cat, Lucille ‘Lulu’. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Millie Rudd; sister, Amy Hawthorne (Ralph); stepmother, Katherine Loehr; and beloved cats, Sally, Georgie, Murphy, and Millie.

Cremation has taken place. Bobby Dean Washburn 66, of Nickerson passed away on June 16, 2019. Bobby was born on July 6, 1952, to Jerry and Clara (Obert) Washburn.

On May 21, 1971, he married the love of his life, Barbara Marie Hemphill and recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.

In this union they had two children, Angela Marie Washburn Wells (Jim) and Michael Dean Washburn (Amy); seven grandchildren, Katlin, Cassie, Colby, Kristen, Sierra, Michaela and Mia; three great-grandchildren with one on the way. He had six wonderful sisters, Barbara, Brenda, Madeline, Adah, Willie and Loretta. Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Clara; and his brother, Larry.

Esther V. Postier, 82, of Hutchinson, died June 15, 2019. She was born January 24, 1937, in Inman to Claus K. and Martha (Klassen) Peters.

She was a loving mother and grandmother that enjoyed spending time in her flower garden and crafting.

Esther was retired from Hubco and the City of Hutchinson.

Surviving are: six children; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A private service is planned. Casket will remain closed. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.

Jeff Buzzard, 89, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019, at his home. He was born on December 14, 1929 in Jay, Oklahoma to Elmer and Rose (Raven) Buzzard. He attended Chilocco Indian Agriculture School. On October 16, 1947 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was honorably discharged on January 19, 1950. He re-enlisted on March 8, 1950 in the United States Airforce and was honorably discharged on September 7, 1954. In 1952 Jeff was lineman of the year for the Armed Forces Football team for the UK. After he was honorably discharged, Jeff worked in the oil field. From 1964 to 1984 he was a hog farmer in Dodge City and Buhler. Jeff later went on to work for Shears Construction in Hutchinson where he retired after 15 years. He married the love of his life Jean L. Gray on June 18, 1964. He enjoyed watching the Oklahoma Sooners football team. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren who he shared a unique and special relationship with each one, and his dogs.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; daughter; Roxie Diane Wampler; grandson, Michael Gray Buzzard; sisters, Rosie Johnson, Louella Greenwood; brothers, Andrew Buzzard and Johnson Buzzard.

He is survived by his sons; Mike Buzzard (daughter in law, Danna Dankanyin), Kirk Buzzard; sisters, Pauline Buzzard, Betty Buzzard, Annie Lou Fisher; brothers, Robert Buzzard, Jackson Buzzard; grandchildren, Alissa Buzzard, Kody Buzzard, Brandi Buzzard, Jackson Buzzard, Troy (Roberta) Wampler and a great grandson, Landon.

A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.

Donna M. Adkinson, 59, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS.

Donna was born on July 10, 1959 in Durango, CO., the daughter of Kenneth McCallister and Norma (DeVaul) Anderson. On July 3, 1997, Donna married Rodney Adkinson in Hutchinson. She was a hairdresser for 40 years with 35 of those years in Hutchinson area.

Donna is survived by her husband Rodney; sisters, Dianne Becker, Dana Mees and Denice Weybrew; brother, Dan McCallister; her best friend, Rose Jones; her son and grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no public visitation as cremation was chosen. There will be a private family inurnment held at a later date.
