Robin Kay French, 60, died June 9, 2019, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born August 7, 1958, in Hutchinson, to Floyd and Lucille (Proctor) Heathcott. Robin enjoyed gardening, spending time with family, attending Royals baseball games, and traveling.

On April 8, 1983, she married Tim Allen French. They shared 36 years of marriage. He survives.

Also surviving are: daughter, Jennifer Thrapp (Travis), Wayland, IA; son, Luke French, Inman; grandchildren, Tanner, Blaine, Colton, and Chase Thrapp; brothers, Terry Heathcott (Kimberly), Hutchinson, Dennis Conner, Corpus Christi, TX; sister, Joyce Ragsdale, Hutchinson; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Max.

Robin was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Christopher Conner.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Burial will follow in North Inman Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.

Herman John Diener, 92, of South Hutchinson, died June 9, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born July 7, 1926, in Hutchinson, to Harry A. and Amanda (Selzer) Diener.

Herman graduated from Hesston Academy in 1949, Goshen College, Goshen, IN, in 1952, received his masters degree from Emporia State University in 1961 and his Specialist in Education from Wichita State University in 1972. He taught elementary school for 11 years, three years in Harper County and eight years in Hutchinson. For 28 years, Herman served as the South Hutchinson Elementary School Principal, retiring in 1991.

Family and music were an important part of Herman’s life. He enjoyed playing harmonica duets with his wife, Mary Ellen, and sang in numerous men’s and mixed quartets. For 20 years, he attended the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, KY, and was a founding member of the 500 member Kansas Mennonite Men’s Chorus. After retirement, Herman enjoyed playing golf, croquet, traveling with Mary Ellen, their children and families, and volunteering in the community and his church, Journey@South Hutchinson.

On August 17, 1949, he married Mary Ellen Beachy at Yoder Mennonite Church. They were two months shy of celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.

Herman is survived by: wife, Mary Ellen of South Hutchinson; children, Dawn Phares (Jim) of Hudson, IA, Gary Diener (Jeannie) of Arvada, CO, Dale Diener (Anita) of Hutchinson, Lance Diener of Hesston; grandchildren, Jamie, Hannah, Gareth, Tiffany, Tabitha, Travis, Brooke; and great-grandchildren, Kylie, Avie, Cadyn, and Eli.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at Journey@South Hutchinson, 808 S. Poplar, South Hutchinson, with Pastor Howard Wagler officiating. Burial will follow in Yoder Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Yoder. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Lindy Jordan Wray, 34, of Hutchinson, died June 8, 2019, at his home. He was born April 12, 1985, to Clifford Kevin and Jan Irene (Davisson) Wray.

Lindy was a 2004 graduate of Buhler High School, and attended Hutchinson Community College (HCC) on a baseball scholarship. In 2005, he was a member of the HCC baseball team that qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) World Series, held in Grand Junction, CO. His participation in the 2005 NJCAA World Series marked the 30th anniversary of his father’s participation in the 1975 NJCAA World Series. Lindy was employed in the family business, Wray and Sons Roofing, Inc., and enjoyed coaching the Buhler Knights Youth Baseball team. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, enjoyed fishing, and loved animals, especially horses and dogs.

Lindy is survived by: parents, Cliff and Jan Wray; brothers, Grady (Anna) Wray, Dylan (Emily) Wray, and Colton Wray; nephews, Easton Wray and Brogan Wray, all of Hutchinson; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and furry companion, Atlas, his yellow lab.

He was preceded in death by: grandparents, Bernard ‘Bernie’ and Lorena Wray, and Clare ‘Jr’ and Evelyn Davisson.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at First Church of the Nazarene, 4290 N. Monroe, Hutchinson, with Pastor Kent Pedersen officiating. Bobby Lee Renner, 65, of Hutchinson, died June 7, 2019, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born March 6, 1954, in Hutchinson, the son of Philip L. and Lucille F. (Hunt) Renner. Bob was a 1972 graduate of Hutchinson High School, served in the U.S. Air Force, Kansas Air National Guard, and owner of Renner Automotive. He and his wife Deatra were married September 19, 1998, in Shell Knob, MO.

Bobby is survived by: wife, Deatra of the home; daughters, Chasity Gibson and Monica Renner, both of South Carolina; stepchildren, Denaye Dies (Ron), Lehigh, KS, Dustin Carey (April) and Dylan Carey, all of Hutchinson; brothers, Philip Renner (Glenna) and Darrell Renner (Cheri), Shell Knob, MO; sister, Barbara Renner, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Christopher, D’Anthony, Kisha, Jazmyn, Jordan, Jayden, Caitlyn, Nevaeh ‘Pumpkin Belly’, Dustin and Weston Carey, Wyatt Dies; and great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Cairo, Naomi and Charlee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with Chaplain Randall Turner officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the McConnell AFB Honor Guard.

James (Jim) E. Swain, 83, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS.

Jim was born December 5, 1935 in Alden, KS., the son of Elven and Vera (Stout) Swain. He attended Hutchinson High School graduating in 1954. He attended Kansas State University where he received his doctorate in Physics. Jim worked as a Physicist for Lawrence National Laboratory in Livermore, CA. He retired after 30 years. On June 16, 1957 he married Mildred Carson in Hutchinson, KS. After he retired, Jim and Mildred moved to Hutchinson in 1994. He enjoyed woodworking and was a martial arts instructor for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his wife, Mildred; brother, Thomas R. Swain and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. with family greeting from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. Joyce Ann Frondorf, 79, of Hutchinson, passed away June 7, 2019 at Hospice House in Hutchinson. Joyce was born to Stanley and Jean (Wright) Espelage on January 17, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio, on June 28, 1958. Joyce married William Frondorf Jr. in Cincinnati, OH.

Joyce worked at a research assistant for the University of Cincinnati. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Sunman, IN. She enjoyed sewing, reading and spending time with her family.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband William; son, Frank Frondorf; brother, Father Thomas Espleage and granddaughter Amanda Frondorf.

She is survived her daughter Janine (Greg) Barnes of Sunman, IN; sons, James (Mary Beth) Frondorf of Sunman, IN, Robert (Toyla) Frondorf of Hutchinson, and Kyle (Jill) Frondorf of Flower Mound, TX; daughter in law, Patricia Frondorf; sisters, Mary Jane Espelage of Ohio, Nancy (David) Jasper of Ohio, Linda (Paul) Weckenbrock of Indiana, Anne Wiesner of Ohio, Jeannie Griffin of Ohio; brothers, Stanley (Kathy) Espelage of Ohio; Harry (Sue) Espelage of Ohio, and Lawrence (Cordy) Espelage of Colorado; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at St. Peters Catholic Church, with Father Vince Lampert officiating.
