Sheryl DaLene ‘Nana’ Bradley, 71, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, April 7, 2019. She was a lifelong Hutchinson resident, born May 26, 1947, to Dale and Clarice Hagg (Depperschmidt) Holeman.

She was a 1965 graduate of Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. Sheryl was a member of Church of Christ Scientist, Hutchinson Iris Club, Red Hat Society and State Fair Promenaders.

She worked in customer service at Kwik Shop, gift wrapping at Wiley’s Department Store, and at Comfort Inn as a night auditor.

She was married to William Edward Bradley. He died in 1993. Survivors include: daughter, Sherlyn Jefferson and husband Adam; grandchildren, Evan, Aaron, Ethan and Allison Jefferson, Simon and Benjamin Hiebert; niece, Angela Doyle and children, all of Hutchinson.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Norvel Holeman.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with Daniel Dyck presiding. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Henrietta Lee Jones, 93, of Hutchinson, died April 6, 2019, at her home. She was born August 1, 1925, in Hutchinson, to Wade H. and Mildred J. (Griffin) Jones.

Henrietta graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1943 and Hutchinson Community College in 1945. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Art Education from Bethany College, Lindsborg, in 1947, where she studied under both Birger Sandzen and Lester Raymer. Henrietta earned her Master of Fine Arts Degree from Washington State University in 1949, where she was on a teaching fellowship. She did additional graduate work at Kansas City Art Institute and School of Design. Henrietta taught art at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma Panhandle State University. She painted mostly landscapes and florals, but one of her paintings was of a B-24 bomber her brother flew during WWII and it hangs in the Hall of Heroes in the Pentagon. Another painting of it hangs in Arnold Hall at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Henrietta was named Kansas Artist of the Year twice during her lifetime. She was a life member of Delta Phi Delta and was of the Methodist faith.

Henrietta is survived by: nephews, Steve Jones, Hutchinson, Charles Jones (Susan), Olathe; niece-in-law, Joyce Jones, Potomac, Maryland; great-niece, Brooksley Jones, Gaithersburg, Maryland; great-nephews, Kevin Jones (Joleen), Overland Park, Ryan Jones, Olathe; great-great-nephew, Jack Jones; step great-nephew, Douglas Walker (Melissa), Weston, Connecticut; step great-niece, Dr. Kendra Sirolly (David), Pennington, New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Robert G. Jones; sister-in-law, Edith Jones; nephew, Robert J. Jones; cousin, Nina Marie Haney, and other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Henrietta L. June E. Groves, 70, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at her home in Hutchinson.

June was born April 10, 1948 in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Roy J. and Ellen M. (Lewallen) Groves.

June graduated from Buhler High School and was a cook in the food industry and later working as a home health aide. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Worship Center. June enjoyed collecting dolls, sewing and sharing the love of God with everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Marvin Freeman and Larry Snell.

June is survived by her daughter, Sharise (Arthur) Lopez; grandchildren, Roy Groves, Chelsea Stapelton, Natasha Hudson, Bryce Hudson, Amber Rogers, Sonia Lopez, and Nythaniel Lopez; great grandchildren, Zaden Groves, Zeddrick Groves, Jedediah Freeman, Noah Payne, Dominic Stapelton, Virginia Stapelton, Elizabeth Woods and Jaelle Haywood; and godchild, Dawn Marie; siblings, Jane Tash, Karen Glover and Patsy Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Mt. Olivet Worship Center, 18 17 th Crestview, Hutchinson, with Pastor Kenn Haddaway officiating. Georgia Sayers, 81, formerly of Hutchinson, died April 5, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 25, 1938, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, to George Ross and Iva Evalea (Patterson) Bible.

Georgia graduated from Cherokee High School in 1956. She was a homemaker. Georgia enjoyed camping, hiking, sailing, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson.

On February 24, 1957, she married Rodney Lew Sayers, Sr. in Cherokee, OK. They shared 62 years of marriage.

Georgia is survived by: husband, Rodney Sayers, Sr.; son, Rodney Sayers, Jr. (Rosemary); daughters, René Haley (Stanley), Beverly Mendoza (Paul), Rebecca Pugh (James); brothers, Ed Bible (Cathy), Richard Bible; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Albert Bible; sister, Clara Kirkland; and grandson, Benjamin Bates.

Emma Berniece Givan, 88, of Hutchinson, died April 5, 2019, in Hutchinson, KS.

She is survived by: son, Timothy G. Givan, Hutchinson; daughters, Jane L. Schultes and Judith A. Debock; brother, Clarence Harms; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Priscilla ‘Betty’ Schrag, 90, of Hutchinson, died April 4, 2019, at her home. She was born June 9, 1928, in Lushton, NE, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Penner) Kroeker.

Betty received her high school diploma in Dallas, OR, and graduated from Grace Bible Institute, Omaha, NE, where she also spent 11 years on staff as a cook before settling into her life as a homemaker. She accepted Jesus as her Savior in her youth and was a member of Center Amish Mennonite Church at the time of her death.

On August 9, 1963, Betty married Daniel R. Schrag in Dallas, OR. He died July 5, 2015.

She is survived by: daughters, Ann Schrag and Pauline Schrag, both of Hutchinson, Sarah Steckly (Paul), Mallorytown, Ontario, Canada; son, Timothy Schrag, Brockville, Ontario, Canada; eight grandchildren; sisters, Martha Gish (Dave), Orange, CA, Esther Freimark, Newberg, OR; brother, Bernhard Kroeker, Highland, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Kroeker.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Center Amish Mennonite Church, 7611 W. Morgan Avenue, Hutchinson, with Pastors Dwight Miller, Gary Miller, and LaVerne Miller officiating. Burial will follow in West Center Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the church.

Lorena Alberta ‘Bert’ Elliott, 88, of Hutchinson, died March 31, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society- Hutchinson Village. She was born December 7, 1930, in Vera, Oklahoma, to Charles Edward and Leona Aretta (Kincaide) Rhodd.

Bert attended Hutchinson High School and retired as a forewoman for various mobile home companies.
On July 22, 1948, she married Jack Elliott in South Hutchinson. He died December 15, 1976.

Bert is survived by: children, Peggy Elliott, Byron Elliott, Troy Elliott; sister, Joanne Rhodd; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorials may be made to Interim Hospice or Good Samaritan Society- Hutchinson Village, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Linda Carol Sallee Rosas, 73, of Hutchinson, died March 31, 2019, at her home. She was born January 5, 1946, in Hutchinson, to Russell Max and Billie Jean (Blair) Sallee.

She attended kindergarten in Hutchinson before moving with her family to St. John, where she graduated from St. John High School in 1964. Linda attended Wichita State University.

On November 13, 1976, she married her high school sweetheart, Luis A. Rosas. He died on November 13, 1997.

After fifteen years in Wichita, she moved to the Washington D.C. area where she became a dog obedience class instructor with the Canine Training Association and Maryland National Capitol Parks and Planning Commission, a dog behavior counselor for area humane societies and several breed rescue groups, as well as doing her own Rottweiler rescue work. She returned to the Hutchinson area in 1999.

Linda is survived by: brother, Dave Sallee, Hutchinson; niece, Margo (Williams) Blair; nephew, Jordan Sallee; great-niece, Allie; great-nephews, James and Marshall; and cousin, Richard (Diane) Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has taken place and no service will be held. In her spirit and memory, hug a dog, preferably a big dog.

Loren Eugene ‘Gene’ McKee, 97, died April 1, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born December 4, 1921, in Sterling, the son of Bodie Eugene and Ida Dell (Kohs) McKee. Gene graduated from Nickerson High School and was a cattleman, owning MerriMac Charolais Ranch. Over a 15-year period showing Charolais cattle, he showed 465 champions. Gene was a lifetime member of Loyal Order of Moose #982 and Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church. He was known to many as “Gene, Gene, the Dancing Machine.”

On February 14, 1943, Gene married Mary Marie Brown. She died July 3, 2011. On June 5, 2014, he married Twilla Irene (Pitts) Garber. She survives.

Also surviving are: son, Dennis McKee (Lila), Hutchinson; grandchildren, Debbie Glass (Greg Frisbee), South Hutchinson, John Glass (Wynnetta), South Hutchinson, Bodie McKee, Hutchinson, Mary ‘Emmy’ Johnson (Andrew), Hutchinson; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Gene was preceded in death by: his parents; daughters, Catherine Voss, Sharon Engelland; brother, Lloyd; and sister, Hallie Gump.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Goetzinger officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Friends may sign the book from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
