Nila Mae Wagner, 85, of Hutchinson, died Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Poudre Valley Hospital, Ft. Collins, Co. She was born January 3, 1934, in Beeler, KS, the daughter of Ralph Adam and Lydia (Adolph) Hinkel.

Nila graduated from Beeler High School in 1951 and Brown Mackie Business College in 1953. She was a retired bookkeeper. Nila was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

On September 4, 1955, she married Marvin Eugene Wagner in Great Bend, KS., he died July 15, 1971. Nila is survived by: daughter, Marva S. Wagner, Longmont, CO; son, Scott Wagner, Huntington Beach, CA. Nila was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th, Hutchinson, with Pastor Quentin Nuttmann and Pastor Henry Blickhahn presiding. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery, Meade, KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or American Heart Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Rosetta Faye Shelton, 70, died January 7, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born March 12, 1948, in Ransom, the daughter of Marcellus M. and Anna F. (Kisslinger) Pfannenstiel.

Rosetta graduated from Trinity Catholic High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. She worked at Hutchinson Government Employees’ Credit Union. Rosetta loved cooking, reading, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson.

On September 2, 1967, Rosetta married Timothy D. Shelton in Hutchinson. He survives. Also surviving are: son, Todd Shelton (Lisa); daughter, Holly Zizumbo (Manuel), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Zac Shelton (Sierra), Kingman, Nickolas Zizumbo, Hutchinson; great-grandson, Khyler Shelton; brother, David Pfannenstiel (Jennifer), Sterling; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation will follow.

Loren Jerome Snell, 81, of Hutchinson, died January 7, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born June 25, 1937, in Hastings, Nebraska, to Sherman Columbus and Ruth Myrtle (Hyde) Snell.

Loren graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1955, attended Hutchinson Community College, and graduated from the FBI National Academy in 1977. Loren served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959. He began working at the Hutchinson Police Department October 1, 1961, retiring after 32 years of service as a lieutenant overseeing the detectives. Loren was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Loren was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Hutchinson.

On December 23, 1958, he married Jennifer Nancy (Fuller) Barber in Dunedin, New Zealand. On November 18, 1988, he married Helen Kathleen ‘Kathy’ Lett in Hutchinson.

Loren is survived by: children, Jeanine Brannan (Doug) of Branson, MO, Bonnie Westfahl (Charlie) of Hutchinson, Theresa Faulkner (Matt) of Arlington, VA, Jeffrey Snell (Karna), of Buhler; grandchildren, Mallory Bohnenblust (Kyle), Matt Britton (Crystal), Amber Haasenritter (Michael), Austin Faulkner (Jacqueline), Shelby Westfahl, Alexandria Walker (Andrew), Emily Brannan, Ryan Westfahl, Dalton Snell, Ian Brannan; eight great-grandchildren; the children’s mother, Jennifer; Loren’s second wife, Kathy; and his companion, May Van Horn. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, James ‘Jim’ Snell.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Father Larry Carver officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary and 9 a.m. until service time Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends following the service.

Frank Robert Huffman, 73, died Sunday, January 6, 2019. He was born at home on 2 Aug 1945 in Marienthal, KS, to Robert and Elizabeth (Kohl) Huffman.

He was named for his grandpa, Frank Kohl, and his father, Robert Huffman. He attended school in Scott City, KS, and Canyon City, CO, before the family settled in Grigston, KS, where he attended school until the family moved to Nickerson, KS in early 1958. There he completed his education.
He was always happy to play with and help his younger siblings get into mischief. Frank joined the Navy in 1967 and was honorably discharged. He became an electrician and worked for Borton’s, wiring grain elevators in several states, and held various jobs throughout his career. He worked in maintenance at Cessna for several years.

He loved technology and would buy old radios or equipment and repair them. He would also buy the latest TV and movie equipment and enjoyed watching comedies and Elvis Presley movies.

On his birthday in 1982, he married Letha (Lowe) Palmer. He would later adopt her two children, Charlie and Harold ‘Ray’. He is survived by: his two adopted children, Charlie (Angela) Huffman of South Hutchinson, Harold Ray (Lacey) Huffman of Haven; and by his eight siblings, James (Kathy) Huffman of Hutchinson, Tom Huffman of Burrton, Mary Blachford of Alden, Jean (Mike) Ober of Cottonwood, AZ, Delores Huffman of Skiatook, OK, Vera (John) Frye of Lyons, Joe (Leslie) Huffman of Hutchinson and Barb (Lou) Winterfield of Fountain Hills, AZ.

As his parents aged, Frank moved into their home, allowing them to remain in their house until their deaths. He is also preceded in death by his ex-wife Letha, who died in 2010.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Father Rick Kotrba presiding. Burial, with Navy Honors, will be in Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson. Rosary will be 6 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Elliott Chapel. Friends may call Thursday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
