Frank Joseph Gulotta, Jr., 82, of Hutchinson, died October 26, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born January 15, 1937,in New Orleans, LA, to Julie (Caron) and Frank Gulotta, Sr.

Frank graduated from high school in 1955 in New Orleans. He worked as a television and radio repairman at the former Lawson’s Appliance store. Frank retired after 27 years of service as a traffic signal technician and electrician for the City of Hutchinson. He was a member of Amvets Post No. 11, the Salthawk Archery Club, and attended St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Hutchinson.

On January 19, 1958, he married Barbara Kay Herdt, in Hutchinson. They shared over 61 years of marriage.

Frank is survived by: wife, Barbara Gulotta; daughter, Janet Gulotta-Carlile (Cy); son, Steve Gulotta, all of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; twin daughters, Jean Marie Talbot and Jane Ann Ramsey; and grandson, Jason Willis.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Father Aaron Spexarth officiating. Burial will be at a later time in New Orleans. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to  5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Ted Hess Vollweider, of South Hutchinson, died October 25, 2019, at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. He was born December 10, 1946, in Halstead, to Frank F. and Irene E. (Hess) Vollweider. Ted graduated from Mount Hope High School in 1964, Hutchinson Community College in 1967, and received his degree in Industrial Engineering from Pittsburg State University in 1969. Ted was proudly employed at Master Machine Tools for 31 years where he held several positions, from Machinist to Industrial Engineer. He continued to stay busy and worked in manufacturing with various companies until his retirement.

On March 17, 1973, Ted married Teresa E. Smith in Hutchinson. They shared 46 years of marriage. Together, they covered thousands of miles in the western United States on their Goldwing motorcycle. Another favorite activity was boating on Table Rock Lake in the Shell Knob, MO, area. He was passionate about his family farm in Mount Hope and continued to work on upkeep, such as mowing, weed-trimming, and clearing trees even through this summer. If Ted couldn’t be found, he would likely be at the farm just watching his wheat grow. Ted also enjoyed mechanic work and tinkering, and had an uncanny ability to know the make, model and year of every classic car he saw. He was a loyal friend to all who were blessed to know him. Ted was so proud of his three children and each of their successes and loved every minute of laughs and love with his eight grandchildren.

He is survived by: his loving wife, Teresa; children, Jenny Ravenscroft of Olathe, Holly Spellman (Dusty) of Hutchinson, Brian Vollweider (Amanda) of Bella Vista, AR; grandchildren, Annie, Jake, and Cody Ravenscroft, Tucker, Truitt, and Tate Spellman, Maddi and Micah Vollweider; sister, Christine Hutton (Steve) of Arkansas City; niece, Mandy McCanless (Chris) of Overland Park; and several cousins.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Wayne Pittman officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with the family present to receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Nancy Ann Ditges, 65, died October 22, 2019, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born August 25, 1954, in Dodge City, to Raymond and Marie (Stegman) Meier.

Nancy graduated from Dodge City Senior High School in 1972. She retired October 1, 2019, as Executive Secretary for Reno County Education Cooperative #610. In addition, Nancy filled her desire to work with law enforcement by being employed with the Hutchinson Police Department, Reno County Sherriff’s Department, and the Reno County District Attorney’s office. Nancy enjoyed visiting friends and researching genealogy. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson.

On May 29, 1976, she married Leslie ‘Les’ Ditges at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Dodge City.

Nancy is survived by: husband of 43 years, Les of Hutchinson; and brother, Patrick Meier and wife Kathleen of Centralia, KS.
She was preceded in death by: her parents and a brother, Michael Meier.

Parish Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2019, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Charles Seiwert officiating. Inurnment will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2019, in the mausoleum at Maple Grove Cemetery, 2350 Matt Down Lane, Dodge City.

Per Nancy’s wishes, she would prefer memorials rather than flowers. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Catholic School (for student scholarships) or Reno County Education Cooperative #610 (to benefit the audiology department), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

The family invites those attending Nancy’s service to wear casual attire and not be saddened by her death, but to celebrate a life well lived.

Marvin Henry Wambsganss, Sr., 92, of South Hutchinson, died October 22, 2019, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. He was born April 7, 1927, in Elmdale, to Bernard Albert August and Clara Marie (Kuester) Wambsganss.

Marvin retired in 1989 from North American Salt Company, Hutchinson, as a Corporate Quality Control Director. He wrote poetry and was a lifetime member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.

On August 5, 1946, he married Esther Evalyn Taylor. She died December 1, 2000. Marvin married Jean Van Stock on January 1, 2003.

He is survived by: wife, Jean Wambsganss of Hutchinson; nephews, Larry (Bridget) Wambsganss of Littleton, CO, and Lee (Denise) Wambsganss of Loveland, CO; niece-in-law, Shirley Long of Pueblo, CO; and stepson, Allyn Joe Amyx of Hutchinson.

Marvin was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Esther Wambsganss; son, Marvin Henry Wambsganss, Jr.; and brother, Merton Wambsganss.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2019, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th, Hutchinson, with Pastor Henry Blickhahn officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd., Hutchinson.

Opal Jane De La Rosa, 73, of Hutchinson, died October 21, 2019, at Reflection Living Bloom House, Hutchinson. She was born September 2, 1946, in Wichita, to Andre and Dorothy Maxine (Patton) De La Rosa.

Jane was a 1964 graduate of Kingman High School, Kingman, and attended beauty school in Decatur, IL. She retired from Lowen Corporation as a design proofer after almost 30 years of service. Jane enjoyed reading, thrift shopping, swimming, playing golf, attending rock concerts and going to her grandchildren’s activities. She was artistic, a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, John Fogerty and the Rolling Stones, and decorated her world with dragonflies.

She was previously married to Kenneth Conner, William J. Mings (deceased) and Paul L. Pristach.

Jane is survived by: sisters, Betty De La Rosa of Irvine, CA, and Dr. Victoria Moots of Kingman; children, Josephine ‘Josie’ (David Planthold) Thompson of Hutchinson, LeRoy (fiancée, Jennifer Terry) Pristach of Los Angeles, CA, Cynthia ‘Cyndi’ (John) Lundy of Bridge Creek, OK, Andre (Wendy) Pristach of Sweetwater, TN, and Dena Conner of Hutchinson; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Daniel De La Rosa.

Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Minister Brenden Pristach of Rolla, MO, officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary.
