An inmate from the Hutchinson Correctional Facility is back in custody. 39-year-old Chad Alan Leichhardt was taken to jail in Perry, Oklahoma and is now awaiting extradition back to Kansas. He was captured Saturday evening at his girlfriend’s home.
It was around 4:00 p-m, Friday when he went missing from his work site at Industrial Metal Fabrication in Newton.
Leichhardt has convictions for DUI, aggravated burglary, drug violations, criminal threat, attempting to elude police and theft. These convictions were from Sumner and Sedgwick counties. Leichardt was due to be released from prison on February 11, 2014.
He will now face additional charges as a result of his escape.
