HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Reno County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the white female who was found in rural Reno County on Monday.
She was identified as 23-year-old Kati Nicole Salmans who was last reported to be a resident of Sterling.
Cause of death has yet to be determined pending toxicology results which they say typically takes several weeks.
Salmans had been reported as a missing person to the Hutchinson Police Department on Feb. 22 and they have been working on this case since then.
It was also reported that Salmans may have been driving a truck that was found wrecked in the area of 56th and Centennial Rd. back on Feb 7. This vehicle was discovered to be wrecked in a ditch with minor damage to the front end and no occupants around at the time deputies arrived.
The location of the wrecked truck was approximately 1/3 to 3/4 of a mile away from where Salmans was found.
