Accident Near Yoder Injures Two Men From Kentucky

Two men from Kentucky were taken to area hospitals while a third involved in a single vehicle accident was not injured.

It occurred around 6:30 a-m, Thursday morning at K-96 and Sand Creek Rd.

A 2003 Ford Explorer was resting on its drivers side in the center median of the highway. There were three males laying in the median, all occupants of the SUV.

All had varying degrees of injuries, the driver was the most seriously injured and 24-year-old Hector Tolertino was flown by Midwest Life Team to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center. He apparently suffered head injuries according to the Reno County Sheriff’s Office.

One of the passengers, 24-year-old Bortolo Beccera was transported by Reno County EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with undetermined injuries, and a second passenger, 24-year-old Montilon Tolertino refused treatment at the scene.

The investigation indicates that Hector Tolertino was traveling west on K-96 when his SUV left the roadway to the right for unknown reasons. He then over corrected and the vehicle rolled several times across the highway and came to final rest in the median.

None of the men were wearing seat belts.
