UPDATE: Police investigating Monday morning stabbing

Updated at 5:11 p.m.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Police and other emergency personnel were called to the report of a stabbing just before 8 a.m. Monday at an apartment in the 500 block of East 3rd.

A 64-year-old male and his 35-year-old daughter got into an argument. Both were injured. The daughter was treated for her cut wounds at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center while the father was taken to a Wichita hospital.

Hutchinson police investigate Monday morning’s stabbing.

“Neither have been very cooperative and the story doesn’t make sense,” Hutchinson Police Lt. Dustin Leopp said. Leopp says illegal drugs may be involved.

He says it may be a couple of days before they know exactly what happened. No arrests have been made. Because it is a domestic case, Leopp couldn’t release the names.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Police and other emergency personnel were called to the report of a stabbing just before 8 a.m. Monday at an apartment in the 500 block of East 3rd.

According to scanner traffic, the victim — believed to be in his 50s — was stabbed in the neck. A woman also in the apartment was wounded, but she may be the suspect in the stabbing, according to Hutchinson Police Chief Jeffrey Hooper. Hooper said he did not know at this point if it was a domestic case. Hooper said there is a lot of blood.

The victim was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in critical condition and a medical helicopter was requested.

More details will be made available as they are released.
