Hutchinson Community College linebacker Brock Long became the second-straight Blue Dragon to earn Verizon/Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week after a strong performance against Navarro on Saturday night at Gowans Stadium.

Long, a 6-foot, 218-point sophomore linebacker from Assaria, Kan., was all over the field in a 41-16 loss to No. 3 Navarro. Long had 13 total tackles, including five solo stops against the Bulldogs. He had one tackle for loss.

Long has now had 10 or more tackles in six-straight games and in 7 of his last 8 outings.

Long earns weekly conference honors one week after defensive back Jaylon Myers earned weekly honors.

Long is now eligible to win NJCAA National Player of the Week honors. Verizon is in the third season of honoring Jayhawk Conference Players of the Week.
