Buhler City Council to take action on annexation plan

BUHLER, Kan. — The Buhler City Council will take the next step in the possible relocation of the city’s grocery store during Tuesday’s regular meeting.

The council will seek approval to annex a parcel of land on the northwest corner of 82nd Avenue and Buhler Road.

If all goes as planned, Hometown Foods would move from the downtown area to that location. Most of the planning and zoning issues have already been resolved. Part of the agreement calls for the city to annex what is currently an old farmstead.

City Manager Merrell Peterson could not give a timeline as to when any construction might begin for the new store. Peterson could only say it is a step-by-step process that is taking time.

Tonight’s meeting of the Buhler City Council begins at 7 p.m. in the city offices.
