UPDATE: Buhler High School Student Injured After Crash With A School Bus

BUHLER – A 17-year-old Buhler High School student was taken to the hospital after a crash with a school bus Thursday afternoon in the 5800 block of North Buhler Road.

He was identified as Daulton Stuart Richard Anderson with a rural Little River address. He was taken by Buhler E-M-S to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The accident occurred when a Buhler school bus was southbound, had stopped with the stop sign extended and red flashing lights operating at 5412 N. Buhler Road. Anderson said he had his cruise control set at 55. When he saw the bus was stopped, he attempted to hit the brakes, but hit the gas pedal instead. With approximately 30-feet left, he applied the brakes, but was unable to slow the vehicle in time and collided with the rear end of the bus.

The bus driver was Kevin Ray Kienzle. Neither he nor any of the students were injured. All of them were examined by EMS and were okay.

The accident occurring around 3:50 p-m.
