Busy Tuesday ahead for Commission

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — It looks to be a busy Tuesday once again for the Reno County Commission with several items up for consideration.

The agenda includes consideration of an agreement with Baughman Company P.A. for consulting services for the preparation and update to the Reno County Comprehensive Plan at a cost of $15,000.

Commissioners will also consider a contract with MKEC Engineering Services out of Wichita to provide mechanical and electrical engineering services for work at the courthouse. That includes hydronic piping and equipment replacement at a cost of $58,000.

The Commission will also consider a quote from Network Management Group in Hutchinson for $165,750 to update and refresh the county’s network storage system.

The Reno County Health Department is also seeking approval to purchase a used 2015 Ford Interceptor from the Sheriff’s Department for a total cost of $10,699. The Appraiser’s office is also asking to purchase a surplus vehicle for a total cost $7,699. The office would then declare one of its vehicles as surplus property.

Plus, the Commission itself will reorganize, naming a new Commission Chairman and Vice-Chairman.

It will also get a department update from Community Corrections Director Randy Regehr.

The meeting of the commission begins at 9 a.m. at the Reno County Courthouse.
