It was around 2:50 p-m, Wednesday Afternoon when Hutchinson Fireman responded to the 1300 block of East 27th for a grass fire. When they arrived, they found four yards on fire.

The fire was controlled in about 15-minutes with units on scene for about an hour.

Preliminary damage is estimated at 5-thousand dollars with damage sustained to one structure which included damaged siding, two fences, as well as the four yards. A boat and three sheds were threatened but were not involved.

The cause of the fire appears to be careless smoking and no one was injured.
