Carl Sherman Cook, 74 years, 6 months, 17 days, passed way October 27, 2017, in Hutchinson, KS., with family by his side.

Carl was born April 10, 1943 in Hutchinson KS. to Sherman L.  and Fern Pauline (Hamilton) Cook, and spent his life working as a mechanic.  He helped a lot of people with their cars, fixing them.  He always gave the praise to God for knowing what to do to fix the cars.

Carl was saved while living in Lubbock, Texas, and after moving back to Hutchinson rededicated his life to the LORD.  He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church for 21 years and everything he did was done for the LORD.

Carl enlisted in the United States Army on April 13, 1960 in Kanas City, Missouri and was honorably discharged on March 28, 1963 at Fort Hamilton, New York.  He spent most of his service in Germany.

On June 21, 1996 he married Shirley at Riverside Baptist Church in Hutchinson.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Sherman L. Cook and Fern Pauline (Hamilton) Cook, and one brother Jimmy of Alabama.
He is survived by his wife Shirley of the home, one brother Don Cook Hutchinson; three sons,  Kenneth Cook Smith, MO., Fred Cook, Russell, and Randy Rhodes, Oklahoma; four  daughters, Paula Livingstone, Russell,  Lisa White, Hutchinson, Debbie Longwell, Missouri, and Rhonda Symonds, Texas; three grandsons Christopher, Justin, and Nathan and one grand-daughter Kiara White, along with a host of grandchildren,  great grandchildren, friends and relatives who will miss him.

The family wishes to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to Kansas Land Tire employees for all their support during this time.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held Friday November 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church, 114 E. 8th Ave., Hutchinson, KS.

Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS.
