Countdown: Week 3 vs. Rezolution Prep

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — HCC (1-1) lost at No. 12 Iowa Western (2-0) last week on the final play of the game.

The Blue Dragons return to Gowans Stadium for a noon kickoff today to face Rezolution Prep Academy of Texas.

The Wildcats have scrimmaged twice to start the year and bring a 30-man roster to Hutchinson.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Join Glen Grunwald, Steve Carpenter and Daren Dunn to kick off the 2017 Blue Dragon football season.

The Blue Dragons and Red Ravens both enter the year unranked. Kickoff is at noon in Gowans Stadium.

 

Countdown: Week 12 vs. Dodge City

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Blue Dragons (5-5) must win at home today if they hope to play in this year’s Salt City Bowl.

Dodge City (6-4) finished the season 9-3 last year with an appearance in the Salt City Bowl.

Join Glen Grunwald, Steve Carpenter and Daren Dunn ahead of Saturday’s contest.

Kickoff is at noon.

Countdown: Week 11 at Fort Scott

FORT SCOTT, Kan. — Join Glen Grunwald, Steve Carpenter and Daren Dunn as the Blue Dragons (4-5) prepare for the Greyhounds (4-5).

HCC is in the middle of a three-game losing streak and needs to win the final two games of the season to gain bowl eligibility.

Fort Scott also needs to win out if it hopes to be bowl eligible.

Countdown: Week 10 vs. Independence

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Join Glen Grunwald, Steve Carpenter and Daren Dunn for a preview of Blue Dragon football as HCC prepares for Independence.

Independence (2-4) had a bye last week, but won two weeks ago in dominating fashion over Highland 45-24.

HCC (4-4) ended up on the wrong end of a defensive battle at Butler.

HCC looks to snap a two-game losing streak, while Independence will be trying for its first two-game winning streak since 2013.

Countdown: Week 9 at Butler

EL DORADO, Kan. — Join Glen Grunwald, Steve Carpenter and Daren Dunn as the Blue Dragons (4-3) prepare for the Butler Grizzlies (4-3).

Both teams are two wins away from bowl eligibility with four games left. The winner tonight will be one step closer to a bowl.

HCC was on a two-game winning streak before losing to Ellsworth in Gowans last Saturday. The three losses this year have come by a total of 10 points.

Butler suffered offensive woes in a three-game losing streak before finding its groove and reeling off two straight.

Countdown: Week 8 vs. Ellsworth

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Football is back. After two games in three days, then 11 days without a game, the Blue Dragons (4-2) return to Gowans and take on the Ellsworth Panthers (3-3).

HCC took a commanding 35-0 lead in Gowans on Halloween last year before Ellsworth reeled off 42 unanswered points.

Both teams enter the game with a two-game winning streak.

Countdown: Week 7 vs. Kansas Wesleyan JV

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Prepare yourself for Blue Dragon Football with Daren Dunn of Eagle Sports. He is joined by the Voice of the Coyotes, Pat Strathman, as Kansas Wesleyan’s JV travels to Gowans Stadium for a 6 p.m. kickoff.

Kansas Wesleyan’s JV lost to Dodge City earlier this year 48-12.

This is a quick turnaround for a Blue Dragon squad that traveled to Fort Dodge, Iowa, Saturday and came away with a 38-0 victory.

 

 

Countdown: Week 6 at Iowa Central

FORT DODGE, Iowa — Join Glen Grunwald, Steve Carpenter and Daren Dunn from Dodger Stadium as the Blue Dragons (2-2) prepare to take on the Tritons (0-5) of Iowa Central.

HCC’s comeback last week fell short against Highland. Iowa Central lost a close game to Independence. The Tritons have lost nine straight, dating back to last season.
