Chad McKinnis Named Head Track Coach At Hutch High

Chad McKinnis

Hutchinson High School has a new head track coach.

Chad McKinnis, physical education and computer assisted instruction teacher at HHS, will be the head track coach for the spring 2014 season. A native of Uniontown in east-central Kansas, McKinnis also is defensive ends coach for the Salthawk football.

McKinnis came to Hutchinson in 2007 from Uniontown where he was defensive coordinator for the football and an assistant for track. The new head track coach has coached track at Chanute and Fort Scott high schools.

He also has coached football at Wichita Northwest, Fort Scott and Chanute high schools as well as Hutchinson Community College.

“During his time at Hutch High, Coach McKinnis has developed a great rapport with kids,” said Eric Armstrong, HHS athletic director. “I’ve also found him to be very dedicated to students as well as HHS.”

HHS track season opens April 1 with a meet at Goddard Eisenhower.
