Charges Filed In 2011 Fatality Accident

A 37-year-old Buhler man involved in a two vehicle fatality accident in Hutchinson last summer has been formally charged over that incident.

Matthew Yoder was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, vehicular homicide or involuntary manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol and DUI.

It was July 26, 2011 when Yoder was going north on Elm just after 2:30 a-m, when he ran a stop sign at the intersection with east 11th, and was hit broadside by a west bound car driven by 23-year- old Kyle Ridgeway of Hutchinson.

Yoder’s car continued to the northwest part of the intersection where it hit a utility pole.

A Passenger in Yoder’s vehicle, 29-year-old John Senabulya, of Hutchinson was killed in the collision. Yoder was taken by Lifeteam Helicopter to Via Cristi, St. Francis Regional Medical Center with head injuries.

A third person in the car was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Ridgeway was also taken to Hutchinson Regional for observation.

Yoder was taken into custody Sunday and is currently free on bond.
