SALINA – Law enforcment stood guard at the scene of fire in north Salina Friday morning.
Charred human remains were found in a vacant trailer that caught fire late Thursday night.

Salina Fire Department and Salina Police were called to report of a vacant mobile home on fire in a wooded area behind a former mobile home lot in the 1700 block of N 9th just before midnight.

When crews arrived, the vacant mobile home was fully engulfed in flames. After the fire was out and the fire crews were doing an investigation, they discovered the a body inside the mobile home.

The structure did not have any utilities hooked up to it, and the investigation into the cause of the fire and identification of the body continues.
