City approves permit requirement for commercial fireworks

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council agreed to a resolution requiring a permit to discharge commercial fireworks in the city. This would include any individuals who want to have their own larger display of fireworks.

A permit will cost $25 and include the date, time and location the fireworks will be discharged. The permit would have to be signed by the city clerk and fire marshal.

This fits in with the city’s adoption of the 2012 international fire code back in 2015.
