HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Coffeyville Red Ravens are on the way to the semi-finals of the NJCAA National Tournament after a heart stopping 67-66 win over Florida Southwestern in overtime.
The game was back and forth through out as Coffeyville used a deep bench a relentless defense to keep FSW in check while the Buccaneers their size advantage to slow down the Ravens. The Ravens had a chance to win it in regulation but could not convert. In overtime the Bucs were down one with 14 seconds to play but missed
Neither team was spectacular on offense as both struggled from the field and from the free throw line. The Ravens shot just 33 percent from the field and just 42 percent from the line. FSW was just 34 percent from the field and 59 percent from the line. Coffeyville was led by Keon Queen who scored 16 points and Marvin Johnson who added another 13. The Bucs were led by Destin Barnes with 16, Mason Daniels, and DeShawn Thomas both added 12.
The Bucs end the year at 30-4.
