HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Officials with Reno County Emergency Management, the Sheriff’s Department and Hutchinson Public Works all gave an update on the current flooding in Reno County Wednesday afternoon.

Most of the concern still centers around Cow Creek west of the city. Jeff Nichols with the City of Hutchinson says the water will keep rising through the rest of the week:

 

 

While most residents in the area along Cow Creek are used to the flooding, emergency management Director Adam Weishaar still issued this statement to those residents:

 

Weishaar says that many roads might be closed off because of field runoff without notice. He adds that motorists need to be aware that there could be water across the road at any time, even if warning signs are not in place. Flood warnings are expected to be in effect for many areas through the weekend.
