The Reno County Commission Tuesday decided they would begin phasing out giving to four non-profit agencies directly, instead giving the money to the United Way and letting them allocate the money to those agencies.
That includes CASA which will receive 15-hundred dollars next year, Child Care Links, which will receive 6-thousand dollars next year, Kansas Legal Services at 24-hundred next year, and the Sexual Assault Domestic Violence Center at 15-thousand. The money will be given directly to the United Way for disbursement.
All four are United Way agencies anyway, and that organization has a better handle on the needs of these organizations says Commissioner Dan Deming.
