HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The sales tax numbers for Reno County are looking pretty good with more collected in October then in September and also more then October of last year.

According to the numbers released Monday by County Treasurer Jan Hull, the county collected just over $402,278 in October compared to the $389,256 for September and $401,331 in October of last year.

The numbers also show the county well ahead of last year with $3,803,460 collected so far this year compared with $3,685,145 last year. The difference is roughly $145,315 more collected so far this year then last year at the same point in time.

The numbers for the one half cent sales tax also show good numbers. It shows that the county collected $495,688 for the month of October. This tax was voted on by county tax payers to build the new county jail and make other improvements. It also shows the county collected more then the previous month by just over $16,000.

All of the sales taxes numbers for the month of October were collected in August.
