It appears that the county has surpassed last years numbers for collection of sales tax, but not by much. That according to numbers released Thursday by County Treasure Clark Miller.

The total for this year is 4-million, 204-thousand, 140-dollars. Last year the county collected 109-million, 108-thousand dollars. That means that county collected roughly 109-thousand, 100-dollars more this year then last.

However, for the month of December, the county actually took in less dollars then in December of last year when they took in 359-thousand, 454-dollars. This December, the number was 313-thousand, 460-dollars, a difference of 45-thousand, 994.

It’s also less then the county collected in November when they brought in 374-thousand, 583-dollars, a difference of 61-thousand, 123 dollars.

Despite the lower number in December, the county still beat last year in sales tax collections.

The December numbers reflect sales in October.
