CTC reassures local parents amid allegations against Wichita YMCA worker

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A YMCA worker in Wichita who was recently arrested on child sex allegations has parents of children wondering if they are safe during recreation and similar events, including those at school.

Hutchinson USD 308 and Communities That Care hold special training workshops throughout the year to help screen and train volunteers who want to work with young students. Lisa Orrison with CTC talks about the program:

Each potential volunteer is thoroughly screened and given a packet that must be filled out before training. Orrison says that many times people don’t realize how much needs to be known when around young students and talked about the training involved:

The training runs each year from July through March. For more information, contact CTC at 620-615-4018.
