HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A very special day coming up at the Kansas Cosmosphere as they remember the D-Day invasion.

It will 70 years ago Friday that the combined allied forces landed on the coast of France and began the drive to take Europe back from the Axis powers. A special ceremony will be held Saturday at the Cosmosphere starting at 11am. The service will include the posting of colors by the American Legion and the invocation by Father Ned Blick of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in South Hutchinson. The speakers for the event will include Shuttle Astronaut Lt. Colonel Charles Gamar, and fourth district Congressman Mike Pompeo.

Music will be provided by the Diamond Wranglers. The event is free and open to the  public.
