DA Stanton, Drug Enforcement Unit recognized by KNOA

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — District Attorney Keith Schroeder announced that Deputy Reno County District Attorney Thomas R. Stanton has been selected to receive the Kansas Narcotics Officer Association 2017 Drug Prosecutor of the Year award.

Stanton joined the local DA’s office in 2001 after serving with the Saline County Attorney’s Office for 10 years. A former police officer in Farmington, New Mexico, and for the University of Kansas, Stanton graduated from law school at KU in 1990. He received the Kansas County and District Attorney’s Association (KCDAA) Prosecutor of the Year award in 2005.

Schroeder says he considers Stanton to be a friend and one of the best prosecutors he has ever met:

Schroeder also acknowledged Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson and the Reno County Drug Enforcement Unit. The Kansas Narcotics Officers Association also named the Reno County Drug Enforcement Unit as the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Kansas Drug Enforcement Unit award, one Schroeder says is well deserved:

The Outstanding Drug Prosecutor and Drug Enforcement Unit awards will be presented by the Kansas Narcotics Officers Association in Topeka on March 6.
