Investigators not sure exactly what happened but lightning may have cause considerable damage to a part of the 14-North building along Main Street last night.

The owners of the 14 North restaurant were contacted by law enforcement early Tuesday morning and when they arrived, they found that the top of the elevator shaft in the back of the building had been blown off.

Bricks from the building were scattered as far as Walnut Street and a number pieces of the building were strewn all over the parking lot in the back.

Both bathrooms to the restaurant suffered heavy damage and the kitchen and other parts of the building suffered water damage.

There was no fire and there were no injuries.
