As expected a Hutchinson woman who testified at the preliminary hearing for two men accused of killing Jennifer Heckel last summer was in court Friday morning for the formal reading of a charge of perjury.

Dana Michelle Craig was charged by the state for testifying that her ex-husband Billy Craig Jr., could not have been involved in the murder of Heckel, because he was with their daughter that night But, as we have mentioned before, the state was able to establish that those statements couldn’t be true, because their daughter was working at the McDonald’s in South Hutchinson during that time.

Craig indicated in court that she would attempt to hire her own attorney.

With the charge being filed, her case will be placed on a future waiver-status docket.
