Dave Kerr Named To University of Kansas Hospital Authority by Governor

Dave Kerr of Hutchinson has been appointed to the University of Kansas Hospital Authority is the public oversight body that governs the operations of the hospital at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The Authority is charged with the mission of operating a teaching hospital for the benefit of the University of Kansas Medical Center, providing high quality patient care and providing a site for medical and biomedical research.

Kerr is a former Kansas State Senator, who served a total of five four year terms and held many leadership positions including President of the Senate, Chairman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee, Chairman of the Senate Education Committee and Chairman of the Senate Economic Development Committee. Kerr was a Republican nominee for Governor in 2002. He is a graduate of Kansas State University (BA) and Kansas University (MBA).

He also served as President of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce from 2007 to the end of 2011.

Kerr was one of two selected for this committee. The other was Monte Coffman of Coffeyville.
