Delinquent taxes for Cottonwood Hills again being studied.

A ruling in favor of the owner of the still born Cottonwood Hills housing development lowered the property valuations of the housing lots at the development east of Hutchinson. That change provided enough financial breathing room for Lane Neville to pay off a large amount of back taxes, thus keeping the properties off the sheriffs tax sale.

But, the problems are not over as Neville is again delinquent on his 2010 property taxes. Cottonwood Hills shows up on the latest delinquency list with 244 parcels of land. The total back taxes owned for the year is nearly 33-thousand dollars.

The change in the tax ruling earlier this year drastically lowered the valuation of the property that went undeveloped after Neville failed to acquire the necessary funding to get the housing portion of the project started. The total amount of difference Neville will save from the changes in the property valuation is still being worked on and could be enough to take care of the 2010 taxes as well

Some other developments are also delinquent. AR Development with a housing development just north of the bowling alley along 30th Avenue with 43 parcels of land owe taxes totaling more than 88-hundred dollars.

Westborough Properties with 18 parcels of land owes taxes of more than 19-thousand 500-dollars, and Mill Creek with more than 35-thousand dollars in taxes owed for 2010 on 38 parcels.

If the taxes aren’t paid with in three years the property goes on the sheriffs tax sale.
