Door-To-Door Salesman Again Causing Some Concern

Reno County Sheriff Badge 2

The warning is again going out about door-to-door salesman. This time the report coming from the Reno County Sheriff’s Office.

Apparently a citizen over the weekend called the Sheriff’s office over concern about a story they saw on television about people pretending to be Kirby Vacuum salesman. They were apparently supposed to meet with with a salesman that day and wanted to be sure that these people were legitimate. The citizen wasn’t sure, after seeing the news story, that these people were actual salesman of Kirby based upon how the company stated that their salesman are dressed.

Sheriff Deputy Becky Dyer did make contact with a group of seven individuals, six males and one female. All claimed to be living in Wichita.

No arrest were made, however, information was passed on to surrounding law enforcement agencies that have had similar incidents.

The Sheriff’s Office is cautioning all citizens to be very cautious when being approached by door-to-door sales people.

Keep your doors locked and do not let them enter your home unless you are completely satisfied that they are there for the purpose they describe and they have the credentials to prove where they work. Don’t be afraid to get their company phone number and tell them that you will call the company and make an appointment with them at a later date.
