CONCORDIA, Kan. — The Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons (12-2) fell to the Cloud County Community College Thunderbirds (9-5) 72-64 in Wednesday night’s game.

In the entire first half, the Blue Dragons trailed the Thunderbirds just barely either being a couple points behind or in a tie.

Hutchinson’s Saquan Singleton drove in a layup to tie the game 18–18 with 7:09 left in the first half. Singleton was the third best scorer of the game finishing with 12 points, six of those being free throws.

Cloud County’s Alvin Thompson hit a buzzer beater 3-pointer to take the lead over the Blue Dragons at halftime 34-31.

With 9:54 to play, Hutchinson’s James Rojas scored an up-and-under move and gave the Blue Dragons a 6-0 run which tied the game 46-46. Rojas was the top player as he scored 19 points with five rebounds.

In the last 40 seconds of the game, Hutchinson fell into a dry spell while Cloud County took full advantage and gained eight points on the Blue Dragons to win 72-64.
