HUTCHINSON, Kan.– Eagle Communications announced Monday the promotion of Glen Grunwald to Sports Director in Hutchinson, effective September 1, 2019.

Grunwald started his broadcasting career in 1985 and joined the long-established Hutchinson Sports Broadcasting team in 1998. Since then, he has provided Play-by-Play and Color Analysis for the Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons, the Hutchinson High School Salt Hawks and the Men’s NJCAA National Basketball Tournament held annually at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

Grunwald’s proven career earned him the 2017 recipient of the Hod Humiston Award from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters for the Kansas Sportscasters Hall of Fame.

“Glen’s experience and expertise in sports broadcasting through the years make him the right choice for this new role,” said Hutchinson Market Manager Terry Drouhard.

“His love for sports in general and love
for local sports specifically will provide valuable insights for our listeners and readers”.

In his new position as Sports Director, Grunwald will now be the main source of leadership for the Hutchinson Sports Staff coordinating all broadcasts on KHMY-FM, KHUT-FM and KWBW-AM/FM and all sports stories on Hutch Post, Eagle’s digital newspaper.
