HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The big annual summer promotion for Eagle Radio Hutchinson called the “Cash Cube” ended with a Hutchinson woman winning $10,000.
Lorrie Gabhart was the big winner and she was surprised saying she never wins anything. She says once it got down to the final five, she knew she would at least win something. Then, when it got down to the final two and they didn’t call her name, she knew she won the big prize.
Winning the second place prize of $5,000 was Abby Stockebrand of Hutchinson. The third place winnings of $2,500 went to Christine Neighbors of Hutchinson, $1,500 went to Marsha Hill of Hutchinson, and $500 went to Benjamin Colle of Inman.
The odds got better for those who had registered when 12 of the 100 eligible didn’t make it to the event at the Kansas State Fair. That means when they started drawing numbers, the chances of winning were 1 in 88.
It should be noted that 17 cities in South Central Kansas were represented in this year’s promotion and contestants registered at various sponsor locations across the region.
More than $20,000 was given out with this promotion with some winners also winning smaller amounts of cash, as much as $100.
A big thank you to our corporate sponsors, Stone Creek Nursery in Hesston, DH Home Improvement and Your Wireless World in Hutchinson. We also want to thank FTS Trailer Sales for use of the trailer that carried the Cash Cube to the different sponsor locations.
Also a thanks to our friends at Pizza Ranch who provided free samples of pizza during the event Saturday at the Sunflower North Building on the Kansas State Fairgrounds.
And a big thank you to all of the listeners of our Eagle Radio Stations who participated, and to every listener, “Thank You” too.
