Elizabeth Janzen | 1915 – 2017 |

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Elizabeth Janzen, 101, of Hutchinson, died Friday, May 26, 2017, at Diversicare, Hutchinson. She was born July 18, 1915, in Buhler, to Jacob and Mary (Braun) Hiebert. Elizabeth was a homemaker, and later in life, an avid bowler for nearly 30 years. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson.

On July 12, 1937, Elizabeth married Abraham H. Janzen in Buhler. He died Nov. 2, 2003.

She is survived by: sons, Delbert (Drinda Collins) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Levi (Mary) of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Kenneth; daughter, Lyla Moore; three brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at First Mennonite Church, 52 Rambler Rd., Hutchinson, with Pastors Tonya Ramer Wenger and Nathan Koontz officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. Fourth Ave., Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
