HAYS – A 32-year-old Great Bend man was killed after he crashed his motorcycle while running from Hays Police.

Killed was Ryan McGinness who according to the Kansas Highway Patrol was fleeing police when he failed to negotiate a curve and hit an embankment. His cycle then flipped multiple times and ended up in a field. McGinness was pronouced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.

The accident occurring about 6:45 p-m Friday, on the U-183 Bypass and Golf Course Road on the south side of Hays.
