Elmer Nisly, 79, of Hutchinson, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born October 20, 1939, in Hutchinson, to Edward D. and Elizabeth (Yoder) Nisly.
He was a member of Center Amish Mennonite Church and retired dairy farmer. He was involved with Offender Victim Ministries and Prison Ministries at Hutchinson Correctional Facility.
On March 1, 1964, he married Cora C. Yoder in Montezuma, GA. They shared over 55 years of marriage.
Elmer is survived by: his wife, Cora; children, Yvonne Sommers and husband David of Oswego, Violet Byler and husband Larry of Hutchinson, Brenda Nisly and husband Arlyn of Partridge, and Julian Nisly and wife Bertha of Hutchinson; siblings, Vera, Barbara, William, Harley and John Nisly, all of Hutchinson, Lester Nisly of South Carolina; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Daniel Nisly; and sister, Laura Nisly.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Center Amish Mennonite Church, 7611 W. Morgan Road, with Pastors LaVerne Miller, David Yoder and Dwight Miller officiating. Burial will follow in West Center Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019, at the church.
