HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A recent article in the Wichita Eagle that a local cancer doctor was at the center of an internal
audit has caused Hutchinson Clinic to issue a memo warning its employees not to comment.
The clinic is said to have issued a memo to all employees not to comment at work or outside of their place of employment regarding Dr. Mark Fesen. The article in the Eagle quoted Dr. Roger Gingrich as saying that Fesen’s practice includes the off-lable use of oncology drugs and non-evidence based dosing and schedule variation. The actions, according to Gingrich, could have been interpreted as fraud. The statements were strongly denied by Fesen.
Let it be known that Fesen, who now works at a clinic in Wichita, has no record of medical malpractice lawsuits or disciplinary action by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts. Fesen has refused interview requests from the Eagle, but did release a statement strongly denying the allegations against him.
