Investigation Continues in Arlington Elevator Explosion

ARLINGTON – It may still be several days before the exact cause of yesterdays explosion at the Cairo Coop elevator in Arlington. According to emergency management most of the damage was confined to the head house although they could not say how significant. They also report that the fire which prompted the evacuation of about a dozen residences around the elevator Thursday evening was confined to the conveyor belt that lifts the grain to the top of the head house and some grain in that area. The man injured in the accident has been identified as Tyler Stejskal of Arlington who is listed in fair condition at the burn unit at Via Christie St Francis Hospital. Federal investigators are on the scene to help determine the cause of the blast which happened just before 7:30 yesterday morning.
