Ex-convict arrested for drug distribution

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 34-year-old man on parole for numerous drug convictions in 2007 is back in jail.

Officers visited the home of Matthew Barnes after he fled from a traffic stop.

During the search, officers reportedly found a box that contained 57 synthetic products that contained THC — the active ingredient in marijuana — and a $100 bill. Officials also found owe sheets and $456 on his person.

Barnes was arrested for the distribution of hallucinogens and a violation of his parole.

His bond for the latest arrest is $5,000. However, he has an arrest and detain with no bond for his parole violation.

He’ll be back in court next week.
