Ex-convict charged with aggravated battery

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 33-year-old Hutchinson man — well known to law enforcement and the courts — has a new case filed by the state.

Robert L. Hill is charged with aggravated battery for an incident on Nov. 7 inside the Reno County Correctional Facility.

He’s accused of getting into an altercation with another inmate, striking the victim multiple times with his fist and pouring a bucket of bleach water on the victim’s face and in his eyes.

The charge is a level 7 felony with a sentencing range of 11 to 34 months in prison.

Hill has prior convictions for distribution of drugs and drug paraphernalia for a case in Harvey County. He also has convictions for flee and elude, obstruction, forgery, and driving while suspended.

His case now moves to a waiver-status docket.
