HUTCHINSON, Kan. — (see videos below)
Join Shrek and his loyal steed Donkey, as they set off on a quest to rescue the beautiful (if slightly temperamental) Princess Fiona. Add the diminutive Lord Farquaad, a gang of fairytale misfits and a biscuit with attitude, and you’ve got the must see musical comedy – SHREK THE MUSICAL!
This year’s major musical production of Family Community Theatre is Shrek the Musical which will take place at Memorial Hall at 101 S. Walnut St. in Hutchinson.
Showtimes dates are February 26th through March 2st with the Thursday – Saturday shows being presented at 7:30 pm and a Sunday matinee on March 1st at 3:00 pm.
This Family Children’s Theatre production has a cast of 95. The actors range in age from 6 to much, much older. Nearly 56 families are represented in the cast. The cast members come from 7 different communities – Arlington, Buhler, Hutchinson, Inman, Nickerson, South Hutchinson, and Sterling. Again, as it is the Family Children’s Theatre’s mission, you will find actors and actresses who have been on stage many times, while there are others who are making their debut. It is the goal of the FCT to provide persons the opportunity to find out more about themselves through the vehicle of acting. FCT strives to bring the community together by opening our organization to anyone who would like to take part. Both goals are key to the FCT’s mission of being an influential organization in our community and surrounding area.
