HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Cancer Council of Reno County had a big goal in mind for the Reno Roundup and Auction: raise $175,000.

CCRC met that goal, but not without the wonderful support of Midway Motors. The Council approached Gabe Goering of Midway Motors to see if he’d be interested in being the first presenting sponsor. Not only did Goering agree, but he also pledged $10,000.

Midway Motors has been there for the Cancer Council in the past as well. One time, a client was traveling back and forth from Wichita for treatment. She needed a new motor, so Midway was there to help. While Midway Motors got her vehicle up and running once again, CCRC helped with mileage and medication.

Sandy Woodson, Executive Director of CCRC, said “this shows how our organization and a community business can work together to help cancer patients in Reno County. Because of Midway Motors and Gabe Goering, we were able to meet our goal this year.”

Woodson also said this was a great partnership for everyone involved. She extended her gratitude to everyone involved in making this endeavor a possibility.
