HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Faris Elementary School PTO is collecting gently worn or new shoes as a fund raiser through Dec. 2.

The shoes are collected and will be processed by Funds2Orgs. The company, in turn, will write the Faris PTO a check for the donation, based on the total weight of the shoes donated.

Funds2Orgs works with micro-enterprises in 25 developing countries from Central America to the Far East. These micro-enterprises are local small business entrepreneurs around the world that purchase the shoes for pennies on the dollar.

The shoes are then sold to retail customers in their countries for a fraction of their original price in North America.
