Federal charges filed in Wichita Bank Robbery

WICHITA – 43-year-old Brent A. Drees of Wichita is charged in federal court with robbing Emprise Bank in Wichita.

Drees was charged with one count of bank robbery in a criminal complaint filed Friday.

The complaint alleged that on Sept. 22, Drees robbed the Emprise Bank at 3900 W. Central. An agent’s affidavit alleges Drees gave a teller a note saying, “Give me $1,200 and you won’t get hurt,” or words to that effect.

Investigators identified Drees from surveillance photos taken at the bank. They arrested him at a house in the 600 block of North Mt. Carmel.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal court and a fine up to $250,000.
