SALINA – Officials in Salina say a 65-year-old female inmate in the Saline County Jail died Tuesday afternoon.

Salina Police Lt. Scott Siemsen says Myrna Eisele was found dead in her cell about noon by a corrections officer. Eisele was in the cell by herself.

Siemsen says an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday, but it appears Eisele died of natural causes.

The case is being investigated by the Salina Police Department at the request of the Saline County Sheriffs Office.
